A few months back Archers College hosted a Farmers Market Fundraiser. It was the first time we had run an event such as this and needless to say, it was a great success. Friends and families enjoyed the day picnicking on the scenic Ganico pomegranate farm.  The Archers team packed and sold delicious gourmet picnic baskets which many families enjoyed.

There was so much to do and see on the day. Our hosts, Ganico, had a delicious stand with fantastic organic produce, and of course their signature pomegranate products. Did you try their anti-oxidant pomegranate shots? At only R5 a shot I am sure you, like us, went back several times for your fix.

It was also very inspiring to learn about all the healthy benefits of this unusual fruit and how you can incorporate these “pom gems” into so many meals and drinks. At Archers we are all about healthy living and we love to find new ways to do this and to keep it interesting.

It was a treat to have Kay from Oh So Ovenly, join our event with a stand full of chocolatey goodness and other delicious bakes and tarts. Kay’s whiskey and dark chocolate fudge was hands down a winner! The rustic Ganico bar sold pomegranate inspired drinks which were a big hit, the basil and pomegranate G&T was by far our favourite. We will definitely be recreating this one at home for our next dinner party.

We want to give a big shout out and a massive thank you to Jason and Laiken Cullen, the owners of Ganico Farm, for hosting this event with us and for your donations towards this school fundraiser. Without your help this event would not be nearly as successful and fun-filled. Thank you for giving us the use of your beautiful farm for the day, we can’t wait to be back!

We were so happy to hear such fantastic feedback from our Archers friends and families that came along to support this event! Thank you again for joining us and we look forward to future events with you all.

Below are some photos and our highlights from the day.

Enjoy!
